Tumbarumba

Tumbarumba began his racing career late in his 2-year-old season and won her maiden race in his second lifetime start on Nov. 6, 2022 at Churchill Downs. He subseqently finished his juvenile season with a runner-up finish in the $100,000 Louisiana Juvenile going six furlongs Dec. 10 at Fair Grounds.

Tumbarumba had a successful 3-year-old year in 2023, which included dirt sprint wins at Keeneland and Churchill Downs and a victory in the $192,000 Ellis Park Derby going one mile on Aug. 13.

Tumbarunba won a graded stakes for the first time in his first start as a 4-year-old when he was victorious in the Grade 3 $150,000 Frew W. Hooper Stales on Jan. 27 at Gulfstream Park. Tumbarumba stalkers the pace in the 11-horse field in the Hooper and then caught up to the leader in mid-stretch and gamely held off a late running challenger to win by a nose.

Tumbarumba went winless in his next 10 starts following his victory in the Hooper but then got hot during the second half of his 5-year-old season in 2025. First, he broke his winless streak with a victory in the R. A. Cowboy Jones Stakes at Ellis Park on Aug. 10 and then he picked up his most prominent career win to date with a victory in the Grade 3 $400,000 Ack Ack Stakes going one mile at Churchill Downs on Sept. 27, when he topped a seven-horse field that included heavy favorite Most Wanted by three-quarters of a length under jockey Tyler Gaffalione. 

Tumbarumba is trained by Brian Lynch. He was bred in Louisiana by the sire Oscar Performance out of the mare Naive Enough by Street Sense.
