Temple City Terror

Temple City Terror put her name in the books by winning the Keertana Overnight Stakes at Churchill Downs in back-to-back seasons. She won it on May 22, 2021, after drafting off the pace behind early leader Dalika, who opened up by as many as sixteen lengths in the early stages. In the stretch, Dalika started to tire, and Temple City Terror surged late for the victory. One year later, on May 28, 2022, Temple City Terror came from last place to win the Keertana for the second straight year by a half a length. 

Temple City Terror visited Saratoga in the summer of 2022 and although she did not leave with a win, she did run a couple of solid efforts in defeat, first with a second-place finish in the Grade 2 Glens Falls Stakes on Aug. 6, and then with a fourth-place finish in the Grade 2 Flower Bowl on Sept. 3.

Taking advantage of her career-best form in the second half of her 6-year-old campaign in 2022, Temple City Terror returned to Kentucky following Saratoga and earned her first career graded stakes win in her next outing on the Grade 3 Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes on Oct. 23 at Keeneland.

Temple City Terror made it two consecutive graded stakes wins in her next start, which was a victory in the Grade 3 $300,000 Long Island Stakes at Aqueduct on Nov. 25. Sent off as the 3-5 favorite in a six-horse field, Temple City Terror closed from last-to-first in the Long Island to win by 1 1/2 lengths. She ran the 1 3/8 miles on firm turf in a final time of 2:15.56 and paid $3.30 to win.

Temple City Terror is trained by Brendan Walsh. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Temple City out of the mare It Takes Two by More Than Ready.
