Scalable

Scalable, a daughter of champion Speightstown, began her career with a fifth-place finish in a Saratoga maiden race during summer 2023 but was then ambitiously sent across the country for a start in the Grade 2 Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita Park, where she finished a good second. The filly then checked in fifth in the NetJets Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at the same track to close out her juvenile campaign, and returned to impressively win her 3-year-old debut at Gulfstream Park by six lengths on Jan. 4, 2024.

Trainer Todd Pletcher then entered Scalable in three consecutive graded stakes races, two on dirt and one on turf, but the filly never threatened in any of them, her best finish a fourth in the seven-furlong Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream. In June, Scalable was given class relief when entered in a 1 1/16-mile allowance optional claiming race on dirt at Churchill Downs, and she rallied late to pick up her second career win by a head.

Her next start came in the Grade 3 Monmouth Oaks on July 27, and Scalable broke through to nab her first graded stakes victory by a rallying three quarters of a length under Paco Lopez.

Scalable is out of the Tapit mare Passion Flower, who is a half-sister to Breeders’ Cup Distaff winner Stopchargingmaria.
