Runninsonofagun

Runninsonofagun broke his maiden on Dec. 31, 2021, on the final day of his 2-year-old season in what was his second career race.  He won a six-furlong maiden claiming race at Aqueduct for trainer Bill Morey and was claimed out of that race by trainer John Toscano, who went on to turn Runninsonofagun into a graded stakes winning sprinter.

Runninsonofagun earned his second career victory in a seven-furlong optional claiming race at Parx on March 29, 2022.

After competing in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct on March 5, 2022, Runninsonofagun became a consistent check-earner in New York graded stakes races for 3-year-olds. During 2022, Runninsonofagun was second in the Grade 3 Dwyer, third in the Grade 2 Amsterdam, and third in the Grade 3 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial. He was also third in the Grade 2 Gallant Bob Stakes at Parx on Sept. 24.

Runninsonofagun earned his first career graded stakes win on Oct. 29 at the Belmont at the Big A meet in the Grade 3 $200,000 Bold Ruler Stakes.  Runninsonofagun was sent off as the 5-2 co-favorite in the 10-horse field and won by a nose, running the six furlongs in a time of 1:10.07.

Runninsonofagun was bred in Kentucky by the sire Gun Runner, out of the mare Golden Artemis by Malibu Moon.
