Prerequisite, a Kentucky-bred Upstart filly, finished fourth in her debut in April 2023 before graduating by 1 ¼ lengths in a 1 1/8-mile maiden race over Belmont Park’s inner turf course on May 7.
The filly then stepped up in class to contest the Grade 2 Wonder Again Stakes, held at the same distance and course on June 11, and led at every point of call under Flavien Prat to defeat rallying Be Your Best by a neck.
Prerequisite is out of the Smart Strike mare Etsu.
