Nostalgic made a sparkling first impression when she rolled to a 7 ¾-length victory in her career debut Oct. 22 at Belmont Park. The Medaglia d’Oro filly followed with a fourth-place finish in the Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct in December.
After an unplaced finish in her 3-year-old debut in the Grade 2 Sweetest Chant Stakes in February at Gulfstream Park, Nostalgic got back on track with a confidence-building 6 ¾-length allowance win at Gulfstream for her Hall of Fame trainer, Bill Mott.

Mott next tested Nostalgic back against tip competition in the $250,000 Gazelle Stakes and she responded with a career-best effort, surging past heavily favored multiple stakes winner Venti Valentine in deep stretch to prevail. She earned a starting spot in the Longines Kentucky Oaks May 6 at Churchill Downs, where she was unplaced four weeks later.
Stakes-placed Been Here Before, by leading sire Tapit, is the dam (mother) of Nostalgic.
