Nashville emerged during late summer and fall 2020 as a budding star sprinter, getting a late start in his 3-year-old season. The Speightstown colt romped in his debut at Saratoga by 11 ½ lengths and then unleashed two dominant wins at Keeneland during its fall meet, taking a six-furlong allowance by 9 ¾ lengths and then setting a track record time of 1:07.89 for six furlongs in the Nov. 7 Perryville Stakes.
Nashville's unbeaten streak ended in the Dec. 26 Runhappy Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita when he finished fourth behind Charlatan.

Owned by China Horse Club and WinStar Farm and trained by Steve Asmussen, Nashville is out of the unraced Mizzen Mast mare Veronique and is a close relative of both 2005 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo and 2007 Santa Anita Derby winner Tiago.
