Mysterious Night (IRE)

Mysterious Night is a 2-year-old colt, bred in Ireland and trained by Charles Appleby for Godolphin. He began his career with four races in England between the distances of six and seven furlongs on the turf including the maiden win which came on June 9, 2022, at Newbury.

Mysterious Night was sent to Deauville, France for his fifth career start, where he won a won a Group 3 stakes race at seven furlongs. That win was enough to punch his ticket to Woodbine for his next race, which would come against Grade 1 competition.

Mysterious Night arrived in Canada for the $500,000 Pattison Summer Stakes on Sept. 17 and was sent off as the prohibitive 1-2 odds favorite in a field of seven horses. With regular rider William Buick aboard, Mysterious Night galloped to victory by 5 ¾ lengths and paid $3.10 to win.

The Pattison Summer Stakes was a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” qualifying race, which secured Mysterious Night a spot in the starting gate for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf on Nov. 4 at Keeneland.
