My Girl Red won her career debut on June 14, 2020, by 4 ¼ lengths at Santa Anita Park for owner-breeder Eric Brehm and trainer Keith Desormeaux. She was then shipped to Del Mar for the Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes on Aug. 7, and shook clear coming out of the far turn of the six-furlong race for 2-year-old fillies to win by a comfortable 4 ¾ lengths.

Her stakes-placed dam Morakami, by Fusaichi Pegasus, also produced My Girl Red’s half-brother (same dam [mother], different sire [father]) Gold Street, winner of the 2020 Smarty Jones Stakes.
