Luther (GB)

British-bred Luther began his racing career in his native country and made his first five starts there before racing in France twice. The Frankel colt won twice, including a listed stakes at Haydock, and also finished a good fourth in the Poule d’Essai des Poulins (French 2,000 Guineas) at Longchamp.

In his first U.S. start, Luther rallied late to finish a good third in the 1 1/8-mile, Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes held at Saratoga on July 4, 2025. He was next entered in the one-mile, Grade 2 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 1, and he overcame an incident heading into the first turn where he had to check hard to respond and finish second behind Zulu Kingdom. Luther was elevated to first after stewards ruled that Zulu Kingdom caused the trouble and disqualified the post-favorite to fourth.

Luther is out of the Group 3-placed winning Cityscape mare Give and Take and is a half-brother to stakes-placed winner Good Gracious. He is from the family of European champion stayer and Irish Derby winner Fame and Glory.
