Laurelin (IRE)

Laurelin won her maiden race at first asking in her 2-year-old career debut going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Belmont at the Big A on Oct. 13, 2024. She quickly followed that up with another win over stakes company in her second start when she took the $135,000 Tepin Stakes going one mile at Aqueduct on Nov. 17 to conclude her juvenile campaign with two wins from two outings. 

Laurelin remained perfect to begin her 3-year-old season when the wins just kept on coming. First, she won the $150,000 Memories of Silver Stakes going one mile on the grass at Aqueduct on April 27, then she kept her perfect record intact with another victory in the $150,000 Penn Oaks going a mile on yielding turf at Penn National on June 27.

Despite being a three-time stakes winner at this point in her career, Laurelin had never faced graded stakes competition until Aug. 9, 2025, when she took on a six-horse field in the Grade 2 $500,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Oaks Invitational Stakes going 1 3/16 miles on the turf. She passed that first graded stakes test with flying colors with a 1 3/4-length score under jockey Kendrick Carmouche to extend her lifetime record to a perfect 5-for-5.

Laurelin is trained by Graham Motion. She was bred in Ireland by the sire Zarak out of the mare Bari by Cape Cross.
