Kavod was no stranger to stakes company in his 2-year-old season. Following a maiden-breaking win at Belmont Park on Apr. 23, 2021, he competed in six stakes races over the next eight months. He finished second by three-quarters of a length in the Tremont Stakes on June 4, but was well-beaten in his next four starts.
Kavod broke through with a win in the Advent Stakes at Oaklawn Park on Dec. 3. He got up to win by a length at 3.20-1.
