Higher Truth (IRE)

Higher Truth was purchased for $645,273 at the 2019 Tattersalle October yearling sale in England but she made her career debut in the United States for Chad Brown. After running sixth in her first try in March 2021 at Tampa Bay Downs, Higher Truth won back-to-back races at Belmont Park in April and June.

By leading European sire Galileo, Higher Truth made her stakes debut in the $700,000 Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes and finished third by a half-length July 10 at Belmont Park. She followed with back-to-back seconds in the $700,000 Saratoga Oaks Invitational Stakes and the $700,000 Jockey Club Oaks Invitational Stakes in August and September. She concluded her 3-year-old campaign with a third-place finish in the Grade 2 Sands Points Stakes in October at Belmont.

Higher Truth made only one starts in 2022, taking an allowance-optional claiming race by 4 ½ length in July at Belmont Park.

Higher Truth returned from an eight-month layoff with a second-place finish in the Grade 3 The Very One Stakes in March 2023 at Gulsfteram Park. She then secured an elusive first career stakes win — after five previous placings — with a front-running 1 ¾-length victory in the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes May 5, 2023, at Belmont Park.

Group stakes winner Wannabe Better, by Duke of Marmalade, is the dam (mother) of Higher Truth and group stakes winner Lady Wannabe.
