Heavenly Sunday

Heavenly Sunday was unbeaten in two starts as a 2-year-old, winning her debut by seven lengths at Horseshoe Indianapolis and then coring by 2 ¾ lengths in an allowance race going a mile on the grass at Keeneland in October 2022.

The Candy Ride filly made her 3-year-old bow in the Grade 3 Sweetest Chant Stakes Feb. 4, 2023, at Gulfstream Park and was again third at Keeneland in the Grade 2 Appalachian Stakes Presented by Japan Racing Association April 8.

Heavenly Sunday secured her first career stakes win in her fifth start when leading from start to finish to win the Grade 2 Edgewood Stakes presented by Forcht Bank by three-quarters of a length on May 5 under Florent Geroux on the Longines Kentucky Oaks undercard at Churchill Downs. She then subsequently finished second in her next start which came in the $224,000 Tepin Stakes on July 1 at Ellis Park going one mile on the turf.

Heavenly Sunday finished second in the Grade 3 Valley View Stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 27, then her following race on Nov. 24, 2023 was taken off the turf in the $300,000 Mrs. Revere Stakes and rescheduled going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs. Making her first career start on the dirt in her ninth career trip to the post, Heavenly Sunday was sent off as the 7-5 favorite on the tote board in a field of nine 3-year-old fillies in the Mrs. Revere. She pressed the pace much of the way, made the lead turning for home and opened up throughout the lane for an easy five-length victory.
