Funtastic Again broke his maiden in a Saratoga 2-year-old race in his second career start on Aug. 27, 2022. After a ninth-place finish in the Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland on Oct. 9, Funtastic Again was sent to Turfway Park to compete on the synthetic Tapeta racing surface. Funtastic Again rattled off back-to-back wins at Turfway on Dec. 2022 and Jan. 2023 in the Leonatus Stakes.
Funtastic Again broke his maiden in a Saratoga 2-year-old race in his second career start on Aug. 27, 2022. After a ninth-place finish in the Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland on Oct. 9, Funtastic Again was sent to Turfway Park to compete on the synthetic Tapeta racing surface. Funtastic Again rattled off back-to-back wins at Turfway on Dec. 2022 and Jan. 2023 in the Leonatus Stakes. The latter victory earned Funtastic Again a shot in the Grade 3 $700,000 Jeff Ruby Steaks at Turfway on March 25, and in that race Funtastic Again earned a third-place finish which was worth 30 qualifying points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.
Funtastic Again is trained by Wesley Ward. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Funtastic out of the mare Repeta by Broken Vow.
