Drafted

Drafted started his career in style. He won a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race at Keeneland by 2 3/4 lengths on Apr. 27, 2016, covering 4 1/2 furlongs in 50.45 seconds. In the process, he set a new track record.

Off that win, Drafted was sent to the prestigious Royal Ascot meet, where he competed in the Windsor Castle Stakes on June 14. He finished a well-beaten seventeenth that day, then returned to the United States. He wrapped up his 2-year-old season with a sixth-plce effort in the Grade 2 Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar on Aug. 13.

Drafted returned to the races in December 2017 at Meydan in Dubai, and spent the next 2 1/2 years competing abroad. He won three stakes races during that time, including the Group 3 Al Shindagha Sprint Sponsored By Jebel Ali Port on Jan. 31, 2019 and the Group 3 Mahab Al Shimaal Sponsored By Emirates Skywards on Mar. 9, 2019.

In late 2020, Drafted returned to the United States for new owners Misty Hollow Farm and trainer David Duggan. After a winless 2021 season, Drafted bounced back with an impressive win in the Grade 3 Toboggan Stakes at Aqueduct on Feb. 5, 2022. He made a powerful move on the turn to inhale favored Happy Medium and win going away. It was his first win in the United States since his maiden win at Keeneland almost six years prior. 

Drafted picked up another graded stakes win on May 14, when he won the Grade 3 Runhappy Stakes at Belmont Park with a perfectly-timed closing rally.
