Didia (ARG)

Didia was a multiple Group 1 winner in her native Argentina who amassed four wins in seven races before coming to the U.S. and joining the barn of Ignacio Correas. She won her first two starts for Correas in 2022, winning an optional claiming race in July before winning the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Old Nelson Stakes by a neck in August, both at Colonial Downs.

The Orpen mare made her 5-year-old debut in the Tom Benson Memorial Stakes March 25, 2023, at Fair Grounds and rallied from off the pace to win by 1 ¼ lengths. She remained perfect in the U.S. in her toughest test to date in the $300,000 Modesty Stakes presented by TwinSpires on the May 5 Longines Kentucky Oaks undercard, defeating a field that featured several Grade 1 winners.

Didia's winning streak was finally snapped when she ran second to Marketsegmentation in the Grade 1 New York Stakes on June 9 at Belmont Park.

After taking a brief freshening between races, Didia was right back to her winning ways when she was victorious in the Grade 1 $300,000 Rodeo Drive Stakes Oct. 7 at Santa Anita which is the host track for her next goal in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf on Nov. 4. In the Rodeo Drive, Didia was sent off as the 1.10-1 favorite atop a field of eight and turned in impressive performance to rally from mid-pack to get up in the stretch to win by 1 3/4 lengths going 1 1/4 miles on the turf in a race that started on the Santa Anita's downhill turf course. In her subsequent start in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf Nov. 4 at Santa Anita, Didia finished 10th.

Didia returned for the beginning of her 6-year-old season on Jan. 27, 2024, in the Grade 2 $500,000 Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf Invitational going 1 1/16 miles at Gulfstream Park, and scored a thrilling neck victory in the race as the 3-1 favorite on the tote board in a field of 11.
