Dash Attack

Dash Attack won his debut impressively on Dec. 5, 2021, at Oaklawn Park, rallying from off the pace under David Cohen to take a one-mile race by 1 ¼ lengths.

He made his next start over the same track and distance on New Year’s Day 2022, and drew the inside post in a 13-horse field for the Smarty Jones Stakes.

Cohen once again kept his mount off of the early lead, and Dash Attack responded when asked in early stretch to power clear for a two-length victory. He earned 10 qualifying points for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve.

Dash Attack finished off the board in three consecutive stakes races in his next three starts, ending his Derby hopes. However, he bounced back with a victory in the Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth Park on May 14, winning a stretch battle with Dean's List. He covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:42.82 over a sloppy track. 

Ken McPeek trains Dash Attack for owners Catalyst Stable, Magdalena Racing, Kevin Pollard and Patty Slevin. Richard Greenberg’s Catalyst Stable and McPeek’s Magdalena Racing partnership bred the colt in Kentucky. He is out of the winning Hard Spun mare Cerce Cay and is a close relative of multiple stakes winners Song of Navarone and Celluloid Hero.
