Danon Bourbon opened his racing career with a 10-length maiden win Oct. 26, 2025, in a 1 1/8-mile dirt race in Japan at Kyoto Racecourse. He followed with another dominant five-length win at the same track in his 3-year-old debut at about 1 3/16 miles Feb. 15, 2026.
The dark bay or brown colt by Maxfield secured a spot in the Kentucky Derby with a 3 ½-length win in the about 1 1/8-mile Fukuryu Stakes on a sloppy track March 28 at Nakayama, where he stalked the pace from third before taking command in the stretch.
