Bourbon Bash had a busy 2-year-old campaign during 2022, running a total of seven times including the lone victory coming versus maidens going six furlongs at Saratoga on Aug. 13. Bourbon Bash finished fifth in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga and 12th in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Keeneland, before getting some class relief and later hitting the board in a pair of un-graded stakes later in the season with a second-place finish in the $200,000 Bowman Mill Stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 29, and in the $150,000 Renaissance Stakes at Oaklawn Park on Dec. 31.

Bourbon Bash began his 3-year-old season with a second-place finish behind Gun Pilot going a mile in an allowance optional claiming race at Oaklawn Park on Feb. 4. Next it was a return to stakes company for Bourbon Bash in the Grade 2 $1 million Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn on Feb. 25, when Bourbon Bash came in fifth in a field of 11.
