The Smarty Jones was a points race on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, and with his third-place finish he earned three qualifying points.
Prior to the Smarty Jones, Baytown Dreamer had won one of eight starts with a third-place finish in the Global Tote Juvenile Mile Stakes on the grass at Kentucky Downs.
