Bankit finished second in his career debut in June 2018 at Belmont Park and followed with a runaway 6 ¾-length victory in August at Saratoga Race Course. The Central Banker colt next finished second by a nose in his stakes debut in the Funny Cide Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 24.

After running fourth in another New York-bred stakes race, Bankit earned a breakthrough win in the Sleepy Hollow Stakes, surging away to win by 5 ¾ lengths on Oct. 20 at Belmont. Making his first start on the 2019 Triple Crown trail in his next start, Bankit closed with a rush in the Remington Springboard Mile Stakes and came up a head shot of winner Long Range Toddy.
Bankit concluded his 4-year-old season with an emphatic win in the Alex M. Robb Stakes at Aqueduct on Dec. 19, 2020. He won by 4 3/4 lengths, for his first stakes win since the 2019 New York Derby.
In his 5-year-old debut, Bankit rallied from behind for a 1 3/4-length win in the John B. Campbell Stakes at Laurel Park on Feb. 20. It was his first stakes victory against open company. A few months later, he won another stakes race against New York-breds, dominating the Commentator Stakes at Belmont by 13 lengths on May 31.
