Aquaphobia

Aquaphobia won his first career start in February 2016, debuting as a 3-year-old and closing from off the pace to win a turf race at Tampa Bay Downs. He subsequently ran second in a stakes race at Pimlico on the Preakness Stakes undercard before earning his first stakes win in his fourth start with a 1 ¼-length victory in the Stanton Stakes at Delaware Park.

He was a bit up and down in 2017 while racing almost exclusively in allowance company with two wins two seconds. Aquaphobia ran third at Delaware Park in the Cape Henlopen Stakes in his only start in a stakes race in 2017.

Aquaphobia won the Super Bowl Starter Handicap and ran third in the Claiming Crown Emerald Stakes over the next two seasons, but he enjoyed his best season to date in 2020.

Aquaphobia won the Old Man Eloquent Stakes in his 2020 debut Jan. 26 at Gulfstream Park and followed with a fourth-place finish in the Grade 2 Muniz Memorial Classic Stakes at Fair Grounds. After a runner-up finish in the Sunshine Forever Stakes, Aquaphobia finished fourth again in the Grade 2 Wise Dan Stakes June 20 at Churchill Downs. He next earned a breakthrough graded stakes win when he spurted clear in the stretch of the Grade 1 United Nation Stakes July 18 at Monmouth Park en route to a one-length victory.

Three-time Grade 1 winner Pussycat Doll, by Real Quiet, is the dam (mother) of Spuper Escape.
