Horse Racing Trainer Jack Sisterson on His Thriving Thoroughbreds and the 2021 Breeders' Cup

10.14.2021

Thoroughbred racehorse trainer Jack Sisterson joins racing reporter (and dedicated member of the horse life) Ren Carothers for an in-depth chat ahead of the 2021 Breeders’ Cup Horse Racing World Championships. Sisterson talked about how he fell in love with horse racing in his native England and what led him to pursue a career in the U.S. Now, with Thoroughbreds primed for contention, he's got several chances to win his very first horse race at the Breeders' Cup on November 5-6 at Del Mar.

Listen to Sisterson talk about getting his start as a hotwalker for Hall of Fame racehorse trainer Todd Pletcher and then ultimately working for trainer Doug O'Neill with whom he went on a thrilling ride with Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist. Five years later, Sisterson is thriving with a string of Thoroughbred horses that includes Breeders' Cup Sprint contender Lexitonian, Breeders' Cup Turf hopeful Channel Cat and rising star Detroit City. What chance do they have at securing a first Breeders' Cup horse racing win for the 36-year-old trainer? Sisterson shares his thoughts.
