City of Light Tops New Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings with Winx, Beauty Generation

Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes winner City of Light shares the top spot with a rating of 125 on the new edition of the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings along with recently retired Australian superstar Winx and Hong Kong-based star Beauty Generation.

Santa Ana Lane, a winner of two Group 1 races in Australia this year, moved into the top five with a 124 rating, followed by Australia’s Happy Clapper at 123.

Three U.S.-based racehorses moved into a group of 13 horses tied for ninth with a rating of 120: Maximum Security earned his rating for finishing first in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (he subsequently was disqualified and placed 17th for interference); McKinzie won the Grade 2 Alysheba Stakes Presented by Sentient Jet by 4 ¾ lengths; and Mitole made the jump following a dominant victory in the Grade 1 Churchill Downs Stakes Presented by Twinspires.com.

Also rated in the cluster at 120 is two-time U.S. champion sprinter Roy H.
