The 35th annual Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 2-3 at Churchill Downs had numerous high points, from emerging stars in Game Winner and Jaywalk on Future Stars Friday to two repeat winners – Stormy Liberal and Roy H – on Saturday. Saturday’s late races were even better, as Accelerate and Monomoy Girl put exclamation points on sensational campaigns with wins in the Breeders’ Cup Classic and Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff, respectively, and European superstar filly Enable became the first horse to win the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and a Breeders’ Cup race – in this case, the Longines Breeders' Cup Turf – in the same year.
