The fourth annual Pegasus World Cup will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at Gulfstream Park, culminating an exciting three-day series of events at the Hallandale Beach, Fla. track.

Top contenders in the $3 million, 1 1/8-mile race are Mucho Gusto and Higher Power.

The Pegasus is the centerpiece of a 90-minute broadcast Saturday on NBC Sports from 4:30-6 p.m. ET. The broadcast will also feature the $1 million Pegasus Turf Cup, a  1 3/16-mile race for older horses on the grass.

Gulfstream’s Jan. 25 card will also feature seven other stakes races. They will be televised on TVG, and the Pegasus World Cup card has a first post time of 11:30 a.m. ET. TVG will also broadcast live the draw for the Pegasus World Cup, set for Wednesday, Jan. 22 beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET.

The other racing highlight of the week is Oaklawn Park’s opening-day card on Friday, Jan. 24. That nine-race card kicks off a 57-day meet in Hot Springs Ark., with a scheduled first post time of 1:35 p.m. ET. The featured race is the $150,000, one-mile Smarty Jones Stakes, a qualifying points race for the 2020 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve. Scheduled post time for the Smarty Jones Stakes is 4:52 p.m. ET. Oaklawn’s races will be broadcast live on TVG.

The main event during this week’s buildup to the Pegasus World Cup – and a signature event in its own right – happens on Thursday, Jan. 23, at Gulfstream’s Sport of Kings Theater when the 49th annual Eclipse Awards will be presented. Full coverage of the awards ceremony will air on TVG, starting at 8 p.m. ET. The awards ceremony will be hosted by Acacia Courtney, Britney Eurton, and Gabby Gaudet. Live web streaming of the awards will be provided by TVG and Eclipse Awards partner websites DRF.com, XBTV.com, and GulfstreamPark.com.

A highlight of online coverage this year is the debut of America’s Best Racing’s #ABRLive show, produced on-site from Gulfstream Park covering the horse racing action and festivities of the Pegasus World Cup.

The show, which starts at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, will be live streamed via ABR’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels and will be hosted by Bram Weinstein and Dan Tordjman. The show will feature several guests from the horse racing world as well as attendees on Pegasus World Cup day.

Follow ABR’s social media feeds using the hashtag #ABRLive on Saturday. Use #ABRLive to ask Dan and Bram questions, share your picks for the Pegasus World Cup and let them know who you want to see on the #ABRLive set with them on Saturday.
