July is in full swing, and for fans of horse racing the action kicks into high gear Thursday when the best race meet in North America begins. Saratoga Race Course opens earlier than in years past with a 10-race card on July 11, and first post set for 1 p.m. Eastern. Two stakes races are on tap for opening day – the Grade 3 Quick Call Stakes for 3-year-old horses on turf and the Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes for 2-year-old fillies on dirt.

Saratoga annually brings the top owners, trainers, and jockeys to upstate New York for 40 days of elite racing and unparalleled atmosphere. The opening weekend at Saratoga runs through Sunday, July 14, and includes a number of special events in addition to six stakes races, such as: Mariano Rivera Day on Friday, July 12; a performance by "American Idol" star Madison VanDenburg on Saturday, July 13; and the Saratoga picnic cooler giveaway, presented by NYRA Bets, on Sunday, July 14, which will also feature the 28th edition of the Hat Contest, presented by Moet & Chandon and Hat Sationa! By DEI.

All of Saratoga's races through the first four days will be broadcast on NYRA's "Saratoga Live" program, which is expanded this year. The broadcast, which is in partnership with FOX Sports and is presented by America's Best Racing, Runhappy, and Claiborne Farm, will air each day of the Saratoga meet on FS2.

In addition to daily national coverage on FS2, Saratoga Live can be seen on regional sports networks including MSG Networks, which will air 105 hours of coverage, in addition to FOX Sports Prime Ticket, FOX Sports San Diego and Altitude Sports.

The broadcast team for "Saratoga Live" includes hosts Greg Wolf and Laffit Pincay III, handicapper and racing analyst Andy Serling, paddock analyst Maggie Wolfendale, reporter Acacia Courtney, retired Hall of Fame rider and analyst Gary Stevens, trainer Tom Amoss, handicapper Jonathan Kinchen, and handicapper and former Major League Baseball all-star Paul LoDuca. Larry Collmus, NYRA announcer and voice of the Triple Crown, provides live race calls.

In addition to the broadcasts on FS2, all Saratoga races will air on TVG as part of their coast-to-coast comprehensive racing coverage.

A highlight of the week’s radio coverage is “The Winner’s Circle” podcast presented The Stronach Group. The upcoming podcast airs July 13 at 10 a.m. Eastern on SB Nation Radio (subscribe and access past episodes via Apple Podcasts here) and is hosted by Bram Weinstein, with racing analysis from retired Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens. The featured guest for Saturday’s show are Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Flavien Prat and ESPN personality Stanford Steve.
