The Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets on June 8 concludes an exciting and controversial Triple Crown season, and is shaping up to be a competitive race headlined by Preakness Stakes winner War of Will and Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve third-place finisher Tacitus.

NBC Sports’ broadcast of the 151st Belmont Stakes is the centerpiece of the week’s extensive media coverage. Coverage begins on NBCSN with a Belmont Access show on Friday, June 7, from 5-6 p.m. ET. On Saturday, June 8, NBCSN will broadcast from 2:30-4 p.m. ET live from Belmont Park, featuring several graded stakes races on the loaded undercard, before switching to NBC from 4-7 p.m. ET for more undercard races and then the Belmont Stakes.

NBC Sports’ coverage of the Belmont features host Mike Tirico; analysts Randy Moss and Jerry Bailey; handicappers/reporters Eddie Olczyk and Britney Eurton; reporters Donna Brothers (also on horseback), Nick Luck, Laffit Pincay III, Kenny Rice, and Ahmed Fareed; and race caller Larry Collmus. Belmont Stakes post time is set for approximately 6:37 p.m. ET.

Highlights of NBC Sports’ coverage include:

  • Sports Illustrated writer Tim Layden presents an essay on the unusual nature of this year’s Triple Crown series;
  • A feature on jockey Luis Saez, who rode disqualified Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve winner Maximum Security and will ride Everfast in the Belmont Stakes;
  • Jerry Bailey and Randy Moss go “around the barns” to meet the contenders of the 151st Belmont Stakes;
  • A feature on Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, who won the Kentucky Derby with Country House and will saddle Tacitus in the Belmont Stakes;
  • Jockey John Velazquez, who was tossed from Bodexpress at the start of the Preakness Stakes, joins Saturday’s broadcast to discuss the incident;
  • A feature on Preakness Stakes-winning jockey Tyler Gaffalione, who will ride War of Will in the Belmont Stakes.

NBC Sports will also present all three “Win and You’re In” Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series races from Belmont Park on Saturday – the Runhappy Metropolitan Handicap, the Ogden Phipps Stakes, and the Jaipur Invitational Stakes.

In addition to traditional television coverage, NBC offers enhanced live streaming coverage via www.nbcsports.com and the NBC Sports App. NBC and NBCSN coverage will be streamed both at www.nbcports.com and the NBC Sports App via the “TV Everywhere” subscription service. The NBC Sports App is available on the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Windows Store, Roku Channel Store, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire.

Live coverage of racing from Belmont Park will also be provided by TVG on both Friday and Saturday.

On the radio side, a highlight of the week's coverage is “The Winner’s Circle” podcast, presented by The Stronach Group. The upcoming podcast airs June 8 at 10 a.m. Eastern on SB Nation Radio and on the SB Nation Radio app and is hosted by Bram Weinstein, with analysis from Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens. Scheduled as featured guest on Belmont Stakes day is fellow Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith, who rode Justify to capture the 2018 Belmont Stakes and become the sport’s 13th Triple Crown winner.

The Belmont Stakes post-position draw will take place at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, on Tuesday, June 4 at 5:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on NYRA's website
