Have you ever wondered what happens at an elite Thoroughbred farm? We all have! Taylor Made is one of the most successful entities in the horse racing world, and here are 10 things you should know about the Nicholasville, Ky., equine paradise.

1. Taylor Made Farm is the home of Chrome.

Two-time Horse of the Year and 2014 Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome is one of the most beloved racehorses of the 21st century, and he now lives at Taylor Made Farm, where he’s a breeding stallion. His first babies are yearlings now, so you only have to wait until 2020 to see them run!

2. Taylor Made has some seriously cute foals.

How can you resist a fuzzy foal in blanket? We can’t. Taylor Made is a nursery as well as a stallion station, so every year they welcome dozens of baby Thoroughbreds to the world.

3. You can visit!

If you dream of touring Taylor Made to see some of the greatest racehorses of our generation, there’s a website for that! Check out Horse Country to arrange your tour today.

4. You can bring the Bluegrass home with you.

If you love Kentucky style, you’re going to want to check out the Taylor Made gift shop.  From bourbon to bow ties, home goods to delectable snacks, there’s something for everyone. (Including you. Actually, especially you. Treat yo self.)

5. Taylor Made has a miniature version of California Chrome, and he’s adorable.

His name is Kentucky Chrome, and he’s completely adorable. If you do nothing else for yourself today, follow him on Instagram. Trust me: it’s the best follow going.

6.     Taylor Made is a worldwide leader in Thoroughbred sales and marketing.

Have you ever wondered how elite Thoroughbreds change hands? Enter Taylor Made Sales: They’re some of the very best in the business. Need proof? Earlier this month, Taylor Made sold Abel Tasman for $5 million at the Keeneland January sale. And that was just 2019; since 1976, Taylor Made Sales has sold over $1.6 billion in horses. Not too shabby!

7. Speaking of sales success …

A hundred Grade 1 stakes winners and counting: that’s how many horses sold by Taylor Made have competed and won at the very top level of horse racing. What’s a Grade 1 race, you ask? Think the Kentucky Derby, the Breeders’ Cup Classic, the Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff – the very best of the very best. Taylor Made excels at selling future stars of the track!

8. Starting in March, you can grab a bite at a top Kentucky restaurant right next to the farm.
