What could be better than a music festival in the heart of horse country? For the first time ever, Keeneland will play host to a two-day extravaganza featuring some of the top bands in the world; and if you’re planning to go to the Railbird Festival on August 10-11, we have ten things you need to know.

1. Know who’s playing.

Railbird Festival has attracted some of the biggest names in music, including the Raconteurs, Hozier, Brandi Carlile, Tyler Childers, and so many more. Check out the full lineup here, and get excited!

2. Tickets are still available.

If you don’t have your tickets yet, don’t worry! There are still some available ranging from GA to VIP, so snag yours now

3. If you can’t afford a ticket, that’s OK – you can earn one through volunteering.

I absolutely love this, and I hope you will, too: Railbird Festival is giving patrons the chance to earn tickets by volunteering at three charities: Central Kentucky Riding For Hope, Fayette Alliance, and Central Music Academy. If you want to go to the festival but can’t afford it, this is an amazing way to get there while helping others.

4. Know what to bring and what to leave.

Getting ready for a festival can be tricky; fortunately, Railbird has a handy list that lets you know what items are permitted and what are banned. Pack your flower crown, but leave your drone at home.

5. There are really cool Railbird Festival experiences available.

Want to experience Horse Country and a music festival? How about a culinary tour of Kentucky? Perhaps you’d like to sample some of the finest bourbon in the world, or maybe you’d love a betting experience alongside your music. All of this can be yours with one of the experience packages on offer!

6. Know the schedule.

With so many great bands playing, it’s important to plan your Railbird experience. Make sure you check out the schedule before you set out for the festival. Remember that gates open at noon, so you’ll have plenty of time to secure that front-row spot!

7. Coming in from out of town? Railbird Festival makes it easy to find a hotel, rental car, and more!

8. Know the lay of the land.

Once you get to the festival, you’re going to want to know where to go for everything from watching your favorite artist to hitting up the bar. So be sure to save this map to your phone so you ‘ll know where you’re going at all times.

9. You can bring the whole family.

If you have kids, you should definitely bring them to Railbird Fest! There’s a whole area dedicated to children complete with miniature horses, pony rides, and arts and sciences center, and so much more.

10. The festival has its own signature beer.
