Welcome to Tacos and Trifectas! Each week, America’s Best Racing’s Southern California correspondent Jose Contreras - @LosPonies to those who follow him on Twitter - will provide a taco review along with a selection that he will key in trifecta bets in hopes of winning some cash to buy more tacos! Contreras will map out a trifecta betting strategy for how to key his main pick and keep track of his return on investment (ROI).
Stop back if you love tacos and want to get a trifecta play!

Recap of the previous wager: Our key horse Tale of Silence settled toward the back of the pack and made a wide move but could only finish fourth.
This week’s trifecta key:
Saturday, Oct. 5
#10 Andesh (20-1 odds): He was squeezed soon after the start in his last race and then settled toward the back of the pack. He saved some ground down the backstretch before making a six-wide move around the turn to win going away. He was hand-ridden in the final yards and galloped out with good energy while stopping the clock with a good final time. He gets tested for class in this spot but I do think he’s got enough talent to deserve a strong look against these.
