New York, NY / Saint-Imier (Switzerland), June 17, 2019 – On the eve of Prix de Diane Longines, the Swiss watch brand Longines celebrated its Record Collection during a special event held in the sumptuous gardens of the Château de Chantilly in the presence of Longines Ambassadors of Elegance and Hollywood stars Kate Winslet and Simon Baker. Longines highlighted – on the wrists of its Ambassadors – a pair of stainless steel and rose gold watches from the Record collection. The acclaimed actors perfectly exemplify elegance and excellence, the hallmarks of the Record Collection and the new joint visual featuring Winslet and Baker which Longines unveiled during the event.
The Record Collection timepieces worn by Winslet and Baker align with Longines’ ongoing mission to offer both female and male customers a wide range of designs and styles in all its collections, enabling each to find a Longines timepiece that is perfectly suited to their taste. The ladies’ Record Collection model worn by Kate Winslet features a white mother-of-pearl dial with diamond indexes, while the men’s piece worn by Simon Baker displays a sunray silver dial with bar indexes. Both watches are mounted on a stainless steel bracelet with rose gold caps, and each timepiece in the collection houses a movement equipped with a single-crystal silicon balance spring that enhances performance while reducing friction.
A stainless steel and rose gold Record Collection model was also named the Official Watch of the 170th edition of the Prix de Diane Longines, which took place the following day on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Chantilly Racecourse. Simon Baker joined Longines for the exciting day, returning to the Prix de Diane Longines where he first made his debut as a Longines Ambassador of Elegance in 2012.
Channel, led by Pierre-Charles Boudot, thrilled spectators with a daring performance, and as the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of this prestigious race day, Longines, together with Simon Baker, presented elegant timepieces to the winning team. Baker joined the Swiss watchmaker once more to present a Record Collection timepiece to Abigail Lopez-Cruz, winner of the “Mademoiselle Diane by Longines” award, who was declared by a panel of experts to be the most elegant lady at the Chantilly racecourse that day.
The Record Collection combines classic elegance and watchmaking excellence. Each piece in this line houses a movement including a single-crystal silicon balance spring with unique properties and which is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). With four sizes (26.00 mm, 30.00 mm, 38.50 mm and 40.00 mm) and a variety of dials, this collection is designed for men or women. All of the models feature the 3-hand version with date window, and are available in steel, 18-karat rose gold, or stainless steel and rose gold. Some pieces also offer a version inlaid with diamonds. These watches come with a bracelet in stainless steel or in stainless steel with rose gold caps, or are fitted on a black, brown, or blue alligator strap.
