Dubai World Cup 2023: Japan vs. Country Grammer
Welcome to Tacos and Trifectas! Each week, America’s Best Racing’s Southern California correspondent Jose Contreras - @LosPonies to those who follow him on Twitter - will provide a taco review along with a selection that he will key in trifecta bets in hopes of winning some cash to buy more tacos! Contreras will map out a trifecta betting strategy for how to key his main pick and keep track of his return on investment (ROI), which was positive in 2017.
Stop back each week if you love tacos and want a trifecta play!

This week’s Trifecta key:
Sunday, Sunland Park, Race 11, $800,000 Sunland Derby, 7:15 p.m. ET
#5 Peace (12-1 odds): He found himself with too much to do in the Grade 2 San Felipe but there’s no shame in finishing seven lengths behind what most people consider to be the top two Kentucky Derby prospects. I find it encouraging that Richard Mandella decides to ship him here off of that fourth in the San Felipe. He only missed third by half a length and he earned a career-best speed figure. I think he is going to be toward the middle of the pack early on and there is plenty of speed to set up for an off-the-pace style like his. His jockey Drayden Van Dyke has been riding well the last few months.
Strategy on $80 Budget:

$1 Trifecta: 1,4,8,10,11 with 1,4,8,10,11 with 5 ($20)
$20 Win on #5 Peace ($20)
