Louisville has a great selection of bars and breweries to choose from if you are looking to celebrate a successful day at the races than with a few drinks.

If you’ve cashed a few tickets and plan to spend some of your winnings from the track on a round or two of drinks for your friends, consider these five well-known and locally recognized bars and breweries:

<a href="">Garage Bar</a>

Garage Bar

Located in Louisville’s up and coming NuLu neighborhood, Garage Bar was once an auto-service garage (hence the name) but was a saloon before that. Garage Bar offers a selection of more than 30 Kentucky bourbon and rye whiskeys. If the weather isn’t too cold or rainy, feel free to enjoy a game of ping-pong or corn hole in the outdoor area for extra entertainment.
<a href="">Hell or High Water</a>

Hell or High Water

Want to take a step back in time to the Prohibition Era? This West Washington Street speakeasy can do just that! This bar offers a unique, old-school atmosphere that will make one feel as if they stepped back 90 years in time. Hell or High Water is modeled to be a seated cocktail experience. Since seating is limited, reservations are suggested and encouraged.
<a href="">Great Flood Brewing</a>

Great Flood Brewing

Named after the infamous “Great Flood” that hit Louisville in 1937, this Highlands brewery was founded by three friends from the University of Louisville and is a local favorite among breweries. With 20 different taps to enjoy, there are plenty of options for all beer lovers. While there is no kitchen, Great Flood does allow outside food inside their brewery for consumption. Not feeling like a night out? Great Flood beer is available at a number of Louisville grocery stores.
