Wedding Toast didn't debut until she was a 3-year-old but quickly showed she was a quality racehorse. After finishing second in her first start, she reeled off four straight victories, including one in the Grade 3 Comely Stakes. Her only race as a 4-year-old was a second place finish in the Cat Cay Stakes.

As a 5-year-old in 2015, Wedding Toast tallied wins in the Miami Shores Handicap and Ruffian Handicap before capturing her first career Grade 1 victory in the Ogden Phipps on Belmont Stakes day, defeating champion Untapable in the process. In her final start before the Breeders' Cup Distaff, Wedding Toast easily won the Beldame Stakes to make herself one of the favorites for the Distaff.
Wedding Toast is a daughter of 2007 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, out of the unraced Coronado's Quest mare Golden Sheba.
