Unified won his career debut impressively in February of his 3-year-old season and followed with a three-length runaway win in the Grade 3 Bay Shore Stakes at Aqueduct.
Trainer Jimmy Jerkens then tested Unified's class and stamina in the 1 1/8-mile, Grade 2 Peter Pan Stakes, and he responded with a three-quarter-length score as the overwhelming favorite. He closed his 3-year-old season with a fifth-place finish in the Grade 3 Betfair.com Pegasus Stakes.
