Thewayiam won one of three starts in her native France before she was shipped to the U.S. and transferred to the barn of Kentucky Derby-winning (Animal Kingdom, 2011) trainer Graham Motion. Since coming stateside, Thewayiam won an allowance race in October 2017 at Keeneland before an 11th-place finish in a graded stakes in November at Del Mar.

Thewayiam bounced back impressively to win the Ginger Brew Stakes at Gulfstream Park in her 3-year-old debut. She followed with a three-quarter-length win in the Grade 3 Sweetest Chant Stakes before a dominant 1 ¾-length score in the Grade 3 Herecomesthebride Stakes on March 3 for her third win in as many starts in 2018.
Thewayiam’s unraced dam (mother), Water Feature, by Dansili, is a half-sister (same dam, different sire [father]) to Group 1 winner Tenby.
