Up With the Birds received Horse of the Year and champion 3-year-old male Sovereign Awards in 2013 after winning the Breeder’s Stakes and finishing a close second in the Queen’s Plate at Woodbine in his two starts for Canada’s Triple Crown. He also won the Grade 1 Jamaica Handicap at Belmont Park that year, and then continued to race for the next four seasons, picking up wins in the Grade 2 Nijinksy Stakes at Woodbine in 2014 and 2016 and finishing second in the Grade 1 Pattison Canadian International Stakes in 2015.
