Peter Deutsch’s Take Charge Paula won her first two career starts, including a black type stakes, but finished 10th in her graded stakes debut, the Pocahontas Stakes. The daughter of Take Charge Indy rebounded to finish second in the Grade 2 Matron Stakes and then won two more black type stakes to close out her juvenile campaign.

The daughter of Take Charge Indy rebounded to finish second in the Grade 2 Matron Stakes and then won two more black type stakes to close out her juvenile campaign.
She made her first start as a 3-year-old a winning one, taking the seven-furlong Grade 3 Forward Gal Stakes by 3 ½ lengths on Feb. 3. After a runner-up finish in the Grade 2 Davona Dale Stakes, Take Charge Paula followed with another second in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Oaks on March 31.
