Named after the New York Mets pitching ace Noah Syndergaard, the chestnut colt entered the Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park as a leading contender for the Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Although he finished second by a nose to Practical Joke in a thrilling finish, Syndergaard cemented his reputation as one of the best in his class by setting very fast fractions through the one-mile race and fighting gamely to the wire.
Trained by Todd Pletcher for a group of Long Island owners and Mets fans, Syndergaard is by the young sire Majesticperfection.
