Sunset Glow broke her maiden at Belmont Park in her second start and headed to England to run at Royal Ascot just two weeks later. The filly finished second in the Albany Stakes before traveling again, this time to Southern California.
The filly broke on top and led all the way around to win the Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes by 3 1/4 lengths on the synthetic. She changed up her running style for her next start, sitting in fourth before pouncing in the stretch for a game win in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante and earned her place as a leading 2-year-old filly.
