Sunny Ridge

Sunny Ridge won two of his first three races, including the Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park, before finishing second to Greepointcrusader in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes. The gray or roan gelding from the final crop of 1994 Horse of the year Holy Bull followed with a game runner-up finish in the $1-million Delta Downs Jackpot Stakes.

Sunny Ridge earned a breakthrough, first graded stakes victory when he won the Grade 3 Withers Stakes in his 3-year-old debut for trainer Jason Servis. Sunny Ridge then finished fourth in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes in his final start on the 2016 Triple Crown trail. He returned in July at Monmouth Park and finished third in the Grade 1 betfair.com Haskell Invitational Stakes.

Sunny Ridge opened his 2017 season with back-to-back stakes win in the Jazil Stakes and Stymie Stakes at Aqueduct. Two starts later, he ran second in the Grade 2 Brooklyn Invitational Stakes in what was his last race in 2017.

After running second in an allowance race and third in the Grade 3 Salvatore Mile Stakes in his first two races in 2018, Sunny Ridge won the State Dinner Stakes at Belmont Park. He subsequently ran second in the Grade 2 Kelso Handicap and third in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap Presented by NYRA Bets.

Sunny Ridge made his 2019 debut in the Jazil Stakes at Aqueduct in January and finished second. He followed with a fourth in the Stymie Stakes and a third in the Grade 3 Westchester Stakes before earning a hard-fought victory in the Grade 3 Salvatore Mile Stakes on May 25 at Monmouth.
