Summer Hit made his debut at Golden Gate breaking his maiden by an impressive nine lengths. The Bertrando son went on to win four allowance races and the Silky Sullivan Stakes. He took second in his first graded stakes, the San Francisco Mile and just a month later won the Grade 3 All American Stakes. Summer Hit added another win to his resume in the Harry F. Brubanker Stakes at Del Mar.
