England-based Suedois scored a Grade 1 win in his U.S. debut when taking the Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland on Oct. 7 with an impressive late rally. The French-bred Le Havre gelding won his first group stakes in 2013, a Group 3 in France, and competed well largely in six- and seven-furlong group stakes without winning until Sept. 9, when he took the one-mile Group 2 Solonaway Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown Racecourse in Ireland.
England-based Suedois scored a Grade 1 win in his U.S. debut when taking the Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland on Oct. 7 with an impressive late rally. Trained by David O’Meara, Suedois earned an automatic berth in the 2017 Breeders’ Cup Mile with his win in the Shadwell Turf Mile. He defeated multiple graded stakes winner Heart to Heart by a half-length with jockey Daniel Tudhope in the irons.
After a fourth-place finish in the Breeders' Cup, Suedois returned to Europe where he placed in a number of Group stakes over the next two years and won the Group 3 Weatherbys Racing Bank Supreme Stakes before returning to the States for another try in the Shadwell Turf Mile in 2019. Suedois finished third in his repeat bid at odds of 20-1.
