Strong Mandate broke his maiden impressively in Saratoga where he won by 4 1/2 lengths. Less than a month later, the Tiznow colt went on to win the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes by 9 3/4 lengths. Finishing out the 2013 season, he finished third in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, keeping himself securely on the Triple Crown trail.
Strong Mandate is out of multiple Grade 1 winner Clear Mandate and is a half-brother to stakes winners Full Mandate and Newfoundland.
