Romping by 9 3/4 lengths in his Setpember 2011 debut, Spring to the Sky showed a lot of promise. But it took the colt nearly a year to win his first stakes race, the Groovey Stakes. In 2013, he's hit the board in four of five races including finishing third in the Woodford Stakes on Oct. 5.
Spring to the Sky is out of a daughter of champion grass mare Soaring Softly and comes from the family of Battle Creek Girl, who produced champion Wavering Girl.
