After winning four of his first nine races, Skyler's Scramjet carried a two-race winning streak into his graded stakes debut in the Grade 3 Tom Fool Handicap on Marh 10, 2018. He pressed the pace from second, seized command near the quarter pole, and opened up a four-length lead in early stretch en route to a comfortable win.
The gelding went winless in his next seven starts through the next 11 months but posted four runner-up efforts in stakes races during that span, including a game second-place finish to World of Trouble in the Grade1 Carter Handicap in April 2019.
