Sircat Sally won the first four starts of her career in Southern California, swiftly moving from a maiden win at Del Mar in fall 2016 to three consecutive stakes wins at Los Alamitos and Santa Anita Park.
The California-bred Surf Cat filly, owned and bred by Joe Turner and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, tested graded stakes company for the first time in the April 8 Grade 3 Providencia Stakes at 1 1/8 miles on Santa Anita’s turf course, and extended her career unbeaten streak to five under Mike Smith. Her win streak continued with a tally in the Grade 3 Senorita Stakes at Santa Anita on May 6 under jockey Stewart Elliott.
Touting a perfect record through six starts, Sircat Sally was all out to hold off Beau Recall and win the Grade 2, 1 1/8-mile Honeymoon Stakes by a neck on June 17, keeping her unbeaten streak intact.
