Shakhimat won three of his first four starts, inclduing stakes wins in the Coronation Futurity at Woodbine to cap his 2-year-old season and the Grade 3 Trannsylvania Stakes Presented by Keeneland Select at Keeneland in his 3-year-old debut.
After finishing ninth in the Grade 2 American Turf Stakes, he was pointed to the Canadian Triple Crown races and ran second in the Plate Trial Stakes and fifth in the Queen's Plate in what was his final start as a 3-year-old.
